Avon Fire and Rescue were called to the River Avon in Bath near the Sainsbury Supermarket on the Lower Bristol Road shortly after midnight this morning after a woman in her 20s fell into the water and was swept downstream by the current.
A water rescue team found the woman and pulled her to safety and she was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal United Hospital.
