A bumper harvest led a Pewsey canalside resident to offer his surplus apples free to passers-by and he left them at the roadside in a plastic storage box.

However when Terry Kemp returned home he was disappointed to find that not only had all of the apples had gone… but so had the box.
Terry was a bit put out by this — but he was delighted to find that a short while later the box had been returned — and with it were two pots of jam — causing Terry to comment on Twitter: "I love where I live."
As well as donating free apples to the world Terry is a member of the community project that bought up the lease on the Barge Inn at Honestreet with money from the Village SOS Lottery Fund, he was until recently a Trustee of the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust and Chairman of the Local Partnership that had successfully bid for the £29 million Lottery Heritage Fund for the K&A Canal and he is also a former Waterway Manager of the Kennet & Avon Canal.
